Bloemendal Wine Estate winter events

Bloemendal (a 300 year old wine farm) has a busy line-up of great foods, wines and entertainment over the next few weeks.
But don’t worry – it all caters around the soccer.
On Saturday night (June 12) I went for the Shiraz, shanks and The Stremes evening. The restaurant is an L-shape with two big screens on each end (for the soccer). The stage is set up in the joining part of the ‘L’ and the band plays a set before the soccer and after the soccer.
The shiraz (2002) was delicious and the lamb shank was to-die-for. It’s easy over stuff oneself at this gourmet buffet (R120 pp).
It also has two large fireplaces and on a winter night nothing can be better than sipping shiraz near the warm flames.
The next events on the cards are: Brazilian Cuisine & Diamondback Band (15 June); SA Potjiekos & Dane Taylor Trio (16 June); English Cuisine & Bloemendal Blues Band (18 June); African Cuisine & Natasha Meister and the Lonesharks (19 June); Swiss Cuisine & Cannon Band (25 June).
