Bouchard Finlayson boutique winery

If you happen to be in the Hemel-en-Aarde region – the southern most point of Africa – particularly in the Walker Bay area (near Hermanus), stop in at the boutique winery: Bouchard Finalyson (www.bouchardfinlayson.co.za)

Not only do they make a gorgeous Pinot Noir and chardonnay, but ask about the bio diversity projects on the estate's lands and beautiful surrounding fynbos.

My favourites of their wine selection include the 2009 Hannibal – an Italian/French blend comprised of: Sangiovese 38%, Pinot noir 18%, Nebbiolo 16%, Shiraz 15%, Mouvedré 10% and Barbera 3% – and the 2009 Galpin Peak Pinot Noir.
