Sometimes the only thing to get you
through a long afternoon in the office (when you've already reached
your coffee limit for the day) is a decadent, sweet treat. I was
lucky enough to receive an awesome little hamper today from Ma Mere
Maison – a brand I first cam across at the Taste of Cape Town
earlier this year.
They make amazing and unusual flavoured
nougat, red velvet cake pops, caramel brittle and macarons.
Nougats range from 'olive oil and
roasted almond' nougat to 'Macadamia nut and sea salt' nougat.
Based in Salt River, they cater for
parties, events, teas etc and offer other goodies like Honey and vanilla-bean Marshmallows coated in roasted coconut; soft white chocolate and stem ginger fudges
On Saturday mornings you will find owners Lexi and Di either at the Neighbourgoods Market (The Old Biscuit Mill) or in their shop carefully constructing one of their Macaroon towers for an elegant Cape Town wedding.
