WineX 2012

wines from Muratie Wine Estate
This past weekend was RMB WineX 2012, a wine expo featuring top wineries from around the country at the CTICC.

I went on both the Thursday and Friday night as there are simply too may wines to try in one go - even though we tried to get through a fair number each night.

There were more than than 400 wines from 75 top Cape Producers - and here are some of my favourites:

Muratie has some amazing wines, including their Pinot Noir and Shiraz

My wine tasting partner

Klein Constantia have some amazing whites - we loved the Sauvignon Blanc

Delaire Graff's Shiraz is a winner :-)

On to the reds...

Creation Pinot Noir is to-die-for and their Shiraz is great too

Bouchard Finlayson Galphin Peak Pinot Noir is a lovely summer red and their Hannibal blend is still one of my favourite red blends.  Don't skimp on the chardonnay either - delish!

We made plans right then and there to try out the new Elgin wine route and stay over in Hermanus
just look at the delight on my face

Morgenster 2001 - what a treat! Their Italian range is also worth trying - reds are great for summer

I'm having waaaaay too much fun!

Wishing we were actually in the winelands

Time to call a cab...

The Morgenster wines are some of the most underrated in SA. It is probably my favourite red wine producer. Also agree with you on the Italian Collection. If you're lucky enough to get your hands on the Nabucco, you will get your mind blown.

I totally agree with you, and yes, that Nabucco is a goodie!
